That could create a significant problem, according to Mardis Gras Casino Vice President Dan Adkins. The Senate passed bill (SB 641) directing as much as $17 million used to subsidize greyhound racing at the Mardi Gras and Wheeling Island casinos allows the casinos to decouple their other operations from the racing, the House bill (HB 4625) does not. One word is making similar bills dealing with the future of greyhound racing in Nitro and Wheeling look a lot different heading into the final 10 days of the legislative session.
